Bassist Christian McBride is one of the country’s leading jazz musicians, but he’s worked over the years with a huge variety of folks. Past albums of his have featured Sting, Afropop star Angélique Kidjo, and pianist Bruce Hornsby, and his most recent project is a duo bass collaboration with bluegrass legend Edgar Meyer. That’s about as small as McBride’s music gets. But when he wants to go big, the Christian McBride Big Band. They play on Thursday, Feb. 15, at 92NY, (fka The 92nd Street Y.)
