Chris Christie Ends White House Bid

WNYC News | Feb 10, 2016

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie has suspended his campaign for the White House according to a spokesperson for the Governor.

The Republican placed sixth in the New Hampshire primary Tuesday after banking his entire campaign strategy around a strong finish in the Granite State.

Speaking to supporters last night, Christie announced that he wouldn't travel to South Carolina as planned, and would instead return home to New Jersey. Christie said he and his family would "take a deep breath" and contemplate the future of his 2016 candidacy.

Christie held more than 70 town hall events in the Granite State over the past few months, and spent the second-most amount of money in New Hampshire, behind only former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush.
