New Sounds | Jan 16, 2015

Hear variations on, recompositions of, and even electronic treatments added to classical (well, technically, romantic, baroque & medieval) works on this New Sounds. There’s music from the German composer Max Richter who recomposed Vivaldi’s “The Four Seasons,” along with Uri Caine’s playful romp around J.S. Bach’s Goldberg Variations and pianist Chad Lawson’s modern minimalism in trio form based on Chopin. Also, Korean-American composer Bora Yoon remixes medieval chant, and Jed Distler has at Pachelbel and his Canon in D.
