The Conservative National Review is For Anyone But Trump

The Brian Lehrer Show | Jan 22, 2016

Trump isn't a true conservative; he's actually a "raging moderate" who's been able to capture a certain anger by "going where the energy is."

That's how Rich Lowry, editor of The National Review, sees it. He talked about their new special issue focused on the conservative case against the Trump candidacy.

Lowry thinks that if Trump actually secures the nomination, he'll probably have to tone down his rhetoric.

"Besides his opposition to free trade and desire to attack imported goods and his desire to build a wall, I think everything else is negotiable...If he actually makes it to the White House, all this stuff will be a total jump ball."

As for whether he or the magazine has officially endorsed anyone:

“We are at the moment officially for anyone but Trump.”
