A Meeting of the Mayoral Minds

A meeting of the mayors will take place in The Hague this fall, for the first ever Global Parliament of Mayors.

The idea is for mayors from cities all over the world to take the leap from local governing to global problem-solving.

Here to discuss: Benjamin Barber, senior research scholar at the Center on Philanthropy and Civil Society at the CUNY Graduate Center and the author of If Mayors Ruled the World: Dysfunctional Nations, Rising Cities (Yale University Press, 2013), and Jozias van Aartsen, mayor of The Hague and former Dutch foreign minister.
