Crumb, L'Rain, Discovery Zone at Brooklyn Paramount
Sept. 4. 7PM. $41.75+up

The NY band Crumb makes pop songs that sound dreamy and psychedelic. Their new album is called Amama, and it’s a kind of musical scavenger hunt. Looking for a recording of a grandma singing a South Asian lullaby? A police scanner about a flock of geese crossing a bridge over the Gowanus Canal? A saxophone mouthpiece played without the rest of the sax? They’re all buried in the mix, along with lead singer Leila Ramani’s elliptical and occasionally unsettling lyrics. Crumb plays Sept. 4 at Brooklyn Paramount.
