Martha P. Johnson was a transgender icon and activist who was found dead in 1992. Although it was ruled a suicide, her friends and community were never fully convinced. In his new documentary, "The Death and Life of Martha P. Johnson," David France  follows transgender activist Victoria Cruz as she reopens the case and tries understand what happened. The two join us to share what they found.

"The Death and Life of Marsha P. Johnson" opens at the IFC Center (323 6th Ave.) and on Netflix on Oct. 6. David France will appear for a Q&A at the 8:55 show.
