Democrats Face Abortion Head On

In the face of both physical and political attacks on Planned Parenthood, Rebecca Traister, a writer-at-large for New York Magazine, says "there's been absolutely no seriousness of response from any of the [far right] candidates."

As for Democrats, she says some have shown more willingness to support Planned Parenthood, which suggests Americans aren't as bitterly divided on the issue as conventional political wisdom may have thought.

Traister is the author of Big Girls Don't Cry: The Election that Changed Everything for American Women (Free Press, 2010) and the forthcoming All the Single Ladies: Unmarried Women and the Rise of an Independent Nation (Simon & Schuster, 2016).
