“Seven Limbs” is the name of an evening-length piece, based on an ancient Buddhist purification practice, by composer Douglas J. Cuomo. He’s best known for his TV music, including the theme music for Sex And The City, but his concert works tend to have Asian influences. His piece, "Arjuna’s Dilemma" was drawn from India’s Bhagavad Gita, and another piece, called "Only Breath," was inspired by the mystical Persian poet Jallaladin Rumi. Douglas J. Cuomo's new piece, Seven Limbs, features the Aizuri string quartet and electric guitarist Nels Cline of the band Wilco. It streams Friday night, Feb. 5, via The MATCH in Houston, and on Friday Feb. 12, via UCLA's Center for the Arts.
