Etienne Charles at David Rubenstein Atrium at Lincoln Center
Tickets: Free. Show at 7:30 pm.

Trumpet player, percussionist, and composer Etienne Charles makes music in a style you might call Creole soul - a blend of New Orleans jazz and Charles’s own background in Trinidad. Now a fixture on the New York scene, he’s about to release an album that celebrates the festive sounds, grooves, chants, and rituals of Carnival in Trinidad and Tobago.  Etienne Charles and his band play a new work commissioned by Lincoln Center and inspired by the diverse immigrant experiences of the Americas, on Thursday night, Jan. 3, in a free concert at the David Rubenstein Atrium at Lincoln Center.
