Exploring Korean Music in NYC

All Of It with Alison Stewart | Jul 7, 2022

Korean pop culture is increasingly popular around the world, and two free concerts coming to Manhattan in July showcase a wide range of contemporary Korean music. The Korea Gayoje, coming to Central Park's SummerStage on Sunday, July 10, focuses on K-pop, and will feature girl group Brave Girls, boy band Golden Child, and solo artist AleXa. K-Indie Music Night, coming to Damrosch Park on July 27th, will showcase two indie rock bands: Jannabi and Byebyesea. Mickey Hyun and Hyo Han from the Korean Cultural Center of New York, which organized these concerts, as well as Tamar Herman, a senior reporter covering culture for the South China Morning Post, join us to dive into the artists performing and the broader popularity of Korean culture in New York.
