Fans Break Out Paper Bags as Knicks Lose 14th Straight
Just how bad are the New York Knicks? With Thursday night's loss to the Houston Rockets, New York has now lost 14 straight and 24 of 25 to fall to 5-34 on the season. The losing streak isn't the longest in team history, but it is a single-season record.
Even ESPN appears to be turning its back on the team. The New York Times reports the network is dumping the three of the four remaining Knick games it was scheduled to air this season.
"They've had an enormous number of injuries, they've tried to integrate a new triangle offense brought in by general manager Phil Jackson, they have a rookie coach. it' s just been this perfect storm of horrible hooping," said New York Times sports writer Michael Powell.
Powell added the Knicks also now appear to be committed to losing in order to secure a high pick in this summer's NBA draft.
