To start the final week of NYC Neighborhood Library Awards nominations, Young Adult novelists Rebecca Stead, Newbery Award-winning author of the YA novels When You Reach Me, Liar & Spy, First Light and Goodbye Stranger (Wendy Lamb Books, 2015), and Daniel José Older, the author of the Bone Street Rumba urban fantasy series from Penguin's Roc Books and the Kirkus Prize-nominated Young Adult novel, Shadowshaper (Scholastic's Arthur A. Levine Books, 2015), talk about the mind-opening effect of reading fiction for children and teens.
