Flor de Toloache, The Resistance Revival Chorus at Sony Hall
Nov. 1. 8PM. $44+up

Picture a mariachi band and you probably think of a group of men. Here in New York you might imagine that group of men playing on the subway. And that IS how Flor de Toloache got started – it’s just that none of them are guys. For years they’ve been developing their own feminist brand of mariachi, with soulful vocal harmonies, easygoing rhythms and a playful pop attitude. Their subway-playing days are long over; last year, instead, they played at the White House. Nov. 1 is The Day Of The Dead, and the band Flor de Toloache plays Tuesday night at Sony Hall.
