Sarah Benson, artistic director of Soho Rep., joins us to discuss “Samara,” along with singer/songwriter Steve Earle. Earle composed the original score and makes his acting debut with the show. The play follows characters living on the frontier, setting out on different journeys.

The Soho Rep's “Samara” runs at the Mezzanine Theatre, A.R.T./New York Theatres (502 West 53rd St., at 10th Ave.) through May 14.

This episode of "The Leonard Lopate Show" is guest hosted by WNYC's Ilya Marritz.
