Guatemalan born Gaby Moreno is probably best known for the theme music to the hit TV series Parks And Recreation, but she has been making multi-lingual records for over a decade. They’re literally multi-lingual in that she sings in both English and Spanish, but they also draw on lot of musical languages as well, from Latin pop to soul to folk. Many songs are practically orchestral, and were done with the Beach Boys old arranger, Van Dyke Parks. 

Gaby Moreno plays with Latin Alternative quartet LADAMA and Grammy-nominated chamber orchestra Metropolis Ensemble (Andrew Cyr, conductor), Monday, Dec. 2, at Merkin Hall as part of the Ecstatic Music Festival.
