David Byrne recently joined forces with the Toronto-based organization called Choir! Choir! Choir! to perform David Bowie’s song “Heroes.” The way Choir! Choir! Choir! usually works is they get a bunch of volunteers together, they learn the song’s arrangement, practice for an hour, and then sing it. But with David Byrne available, they chose to give him the melody and have their impromptu choir sing this simple but affecting arrangement.

That’s "Heroes" by David Bowie, sung by David Byrne and a group of strangers who all got together to perform under the name Choir! Choir! Choir! in the lobby of the Public Theater. The video is also part of our Weekly Music Roundup.
