Dream Wife is a London-based three piece, Alice, Bella & Rakel, from Brighton, London, and Reykjavik, that was formed after creating a fake band for an art exhibition. Their music subverts expectations of girl group harmonies nearly from the get-go, rife with snarling postpunk riffs and self-possessed statements of "I am not my body, I'm somebody" (and sometimes potty-mouthed lyrics.) Dream Wife plays their punk-informed rockenroll tonight at Elsewhere and they release their raucous debut album (with limited edition red splatter vinyl) on Jan. 23, according to Bandcamp.
