Australian ambient artist Lawrence English has said that birdwatching was an early education in sound. Not so much the chirping, but the fact that you have to locate the animal in a dense bush or tree by using your ears. So it’s somewhat appropriate that one of English’s recent releases is called “The Peregrine.”
