EVENT: The Triplets of Belleville screening with live score

The 2003 animated film “The Triplets of Belleville” tells the story of a Tour de France bicyclist kidnapped by the French mafia and forced into labor for an outlandish gambling syndicate. It sounds strange, because it IS strange – and laugh out loud funny. The film has next to no dialogue, stars an obese dog and an elderly grandmother – and was nominated for an Oscar, both for the film AND the original song, “Belleville Rendez-vous.” A Bastille Day treat: The Triplets of Belleville is screening tonight at Prospect Park Bandshell, with live musical accompaniment from the composer of the film’s soundtrack, guitarist Benoit Charest. It's free, as part of the BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn! Festival.
