GoGo Penguin at Silent Films/Live Music at Brookfield Place, Jan. 24
Tickets: FREE. Screening begins at 7:30PM.

From Manchester, England comes GoGo Penguin, a self-described leftfield piano trio that uses the sounds of rock, electronic music, and minimalism while looking like a jazz band. Among their more unusual projects is a new soundtrack to the contemporary silent film Koyaanisqatsi. Godfrey Reggio’s cinematic meditation on how we have treated the earth originally had a score by Philip Glass, but GoGo Penguin have put their own musical stamp on it, and they’re performing it in New York for the first time tonight. GoGo Penguin plays their soundtrack to the cult film favorite Koyaanisqatsi on Friday, Jan. 24, in a free event at Brookfield Place.
