How 'Golden Boy' Can Shed Light On Dealing With Parkinson's

The Leonard Lopate Show | Nov 10, 2017

Actor Ron Shetler joins us to talk about starring in a new production of Clifford Odets’ “Golden Boy." The 1937 play tells the story of a man whose dreams of becoming a violinist clash with his potential as a competitive boxing. We're also joined by Alex Montaldo, who also stars in the show, and Dr. Roberta Marongiu Montaldo, assistant professor in the neurosurgery department at Weill Cornell Medicine. The two developed stoPD, a nonprofit that supports and trains people in living with Parkinson’s disease. Two cast members as well as production and creative team members are living with Parkinson's, and stoPD co-produced the show.

“Golden Boy” is a production of Room 15 Theater Group and stoPD and runs through Nov. 19 at GK Arts Center (29 Jay Street, Brooklyn).
