“Hart Island” Uses New York City’s Potter’s Field To Meditate On Mourning

For more than a century, New York City residents who can't afford a burial or whose bodies are unclaimed have been laid to rest in the potter's field on Hart Island. But it's hard to access, and many people are unaware of its history. But a new play by theater company Mason Holdings meditates on the island's role, and New Yorkers' relationships with it.
