Hazmat Modine at Le Poisson Rouge

Gig Alerts | Jan 29, 2020

Hazmat Modine at Le Poisson Rouge, Feb. 1
Tickets: $20-25. Show at 7PM

Hazmat Modine is a band based in New York; it looks, and sometimes sounds, like a traditional American roots band – Delta blues, New Orleans horns, maybe even a little Grateful Dead. But… there are Central Asian throat singers and Mongolian fiddles and other surprises that have colored their songs over the years. Now, they’re releasing an album full of West African sounds, made with the Malian percussionist Balla Kouyate. Hazmat Modine's new album, Box of Bread, is out Jan. 31 and they play Feb. 1 at Le Poisson Rouge.
