How Did You Cope with Extreme Climate?
Our phone lines are open for anyone who's lived in an extreme climate for a significant period of time.
Blisteringly hot, teeth-chatteringly cold, way too windy – describe what it was like to live under "extreme" conditions and what you did to cope: 212-433-9692.
@BrianLehrer grew up in Minnesota - winters were unbearable. Last winter it hit minus 45 windchill. NYC winters are balmy by comparison.

@BrianLehrer bought good boots, learned to x-county ski and snowshoe, put chains on tires. (Because frombuffalo.)

@BrianLehrer I lived in new Delhi for a while. 115° has got to be what a vampire experiences in daylight. Actual burning.

@BrianLehrer 4 MN winters teaches you NYC is not cold. Temp above 20 degrees not too bad. Below 0 is cold. minus 60 is down right COLD!!

@BrianLehrer @ college in ME, it got down to -15F. Entering an overheated 85F classroom, my contacts fogged up b/c of the 100deg difference.
