Jane Birkin: Symphonic Gainsbourg at The Beacon Theatre

Gig Alerts | Mar 2, 2020

Symphonic Gainsbourg at The Beacon Theatre, Fri., March 6.
Tickets: $75-$161. Show at 8PM.

When Serge Gainsbourg recorded this song with his new girlfriend, Jane Birkin, back in 1968, it was banned from the radio in many countries because it was too overtly erotic. Now, it’s considered a classic, worthy of the full-blown symphonic treatment. Jane Birkin and an orchestra are doing a program of Gainsbourg songs in symphonic arrangements, with appearances by her daughter Charlotte Gainsbourg and, the notorious Iggy Pop. Jane Birkin stars in the Symphonic Gainsbourg Friday, March 6, at the Beacon Theatre.
