Revisiting Rock's Darkest Day: The Hells Angels & Rolling Stones at Altamont

On December 6, 1969 at the Altamont Speedway Free Festival, The Rolling Stones hired Hells Angels to act as security for their concert. A member of the biker gang ended up stabbing a concertgoer to death. Music journalist Joel Selvin details the infamous concert in Altamont: The Rolling Stones, the Hells Angels, and the Inside Story of Rock's Darkest Day.

Event: On Wednesday, September 28th at 7 p.m., Joel Selvin will be signing copies of his book at the Nitehawk Cinema (136 Metropolitan Avenue Brooklyn). There will be a 7:30 p.m. screening of the film "Gimme Shelter," followed by a Q&A with Joel Selvin in conversation with Danny Goldberg, President of GoldVE Entertainment.
