John Hiatt has spent over half a century in the music business. He began as a songwriter in Nashville while still a teenager and promptly scored a top 40 hit when Three Dog Night recorded his song “Sure As I’m Sittin’ Here.” Since then his songs have been covered by a huge range of artists, from Bob Dylan to Iggy Pop. But through it all, Hiatt has maintained his own career as a singer and performer, releasing more than 20 albums and leading his band The Goners through his catalog of classics. John Hiatt and his band, with guest guitarist Sonny Landreth play June 30-July 1 at City Winery.
