Jonathan's Pick of the Week: The Count Basie Orchestra & Dee Dee Bridgewater

New Standards | Feb 1, 2017

The Count Basie Orchestra @ Blue Note Jazz Club

It is only fitting that Blue Note Jazz Club has begun Black History Month honoring a cornerstone of jazz history, Count Basie. Though no longer with us, this jazz giant's legacy and music lives on through his own Grammy-winning Orchestra. Founded in 1935, The Count Basie Orchestra is still performing to this day with some members chosen by Basie himself. This week they are joined by fellow Grammy-winner Dee Dee Bridgewater at Blue Note Jazz Club. Wednesday, February 1st through Sunday, February 5th 8:30/10:00 PM
