Joseph Arthur’s career has included a long list of solo LPs, often addressing his battles with drugs, alcohol, and PTSD. There’s also an album of Lou Reed covers, a collaboration with Peter Buck of REM, and one controversial single which claimed the Covid-19 vaccine was dangerous. That cost him his manager and his record label. Arthur now talks openly about his struggles with NPD – narcissistic personality disorder. But he still puts on a fine one-man show, using looping technology and a rack of effects pedals on his guitar. Joseph Arthur plays on Jan. 11 at City Winery.
