Judge says people shouldn't have to risk their lives by being in close contact with unvaccinated

WNYC News | Mar 25, 2022

Last fall, a federal jury in Brooklyn convicted two New York City men of murder and extortion. Lawyers for the men claimed the pair didn’t get a fair trial because the judge had prevented unvaccinated people from serving on the jury, and they filed a motion for a new trial. The judge rejected the motion, writing that the men "killed one man" and "this court declines to let them add one or more jurors to their body count.”

Herb Pinder, the editor of WNYC's Race and Justice Unit, talked about what this ruling means. Listen to his conversation by clicking the 'play' button.
