Kenyans are heading to the polls today to vote in a number of races, including a tight presidential contest between the incumbent President Uhuru Kenyatta and opposition leader Raila Odinga.

There are serious concerns about whether Kenya will be able to hold peaceful and credible elections after a senior election official who was responsible for managing the country’s electronic voting system was recently found dead. Kenyans still vividly remember the ethnic violence that erupted after the country's contested elections a decade ago, resulting in the deaths of more than 1,300 people, and there have been plenty of calls for people to unite during the current uncertain election season.

Wairimu Gitahi, the founder of Mediatwenty Productions, a media production company based in Nairobi, Kenya, discusses the expectations and also the fears about today’s vote.
