
Lauren Groff's Florida, Title IX Update, 'Inside Jokes'
Lauren Groff joins us to discuss her latest book, Florida, a collection of short stories that looks at the mysterious and hidden corners of the state and its inhabitants. The book was a finalist for this year's National Book Awards. Groff will be at Symphony Space at 7:30pm on November 28 for the Riverhead Books' 25th Anniversary edition of Selected Shorts along with James McBride, Daniel Alarcon, and Meg Wolitzer.

When Education Secretary Betsy DeVos proposed an overhaul of how colleges handle sexual assault accusations last week, she said the rules would make the process more fair. This effort is part of the Trump Administration’s decision to redefine Title IX, the federal law that requires schools to appropriately respond to reports of sexual harassment and sexual assault against students. Erin Buzuvis, (at 24:39) a professor at Western New England School of Law and the director of the school’s Center for Gender & Sexuality Studies, joins us to explain the proposed changes and offer insight into the evolution of Title IX.
