Leila Abdul Rauf is an experimental musician from the Bay Area probably best known for her work with the extreme metal band Vastum. But she’s also done ambient electronic soundscapes, and now, with her solo album titled Calls From A Seething Edge, she stakes out even more musical territory with a collection of songs that use orchestral instruments with droning electronics and Near Eastern-tinged melodies. Leila Abdul Rauf plays a record release show on Dec. 18 at Hart Bar in Brooklyn.
