Baseball Legend Leo Durocher

The Leonard Lopate Show | Apr 5, 2017

Paul Dickson discusses his latest book, Leo Durocher: Baseball's Prodigal Son. He looks at the life and career of Durocher, from his time playing in the pros to becoming manager of a series of Major League Baseball teams. Dickson profiles Durocher's complexities. He was a man who could be selfish and inappropriate, but who also recruited talented players regardless of the racial segregation that existed in professional baseball.
