Lin-Manuel Miranda – Cheering For Me Now (Weekly Music Roundup)

On his new song, “Cheering For Me Now,” Lin-Manuel Miranda revisits the role he made famous in the hit musical Hamilton. The song is part of his limited monthly series he calls Hamildrops, in which he collaborates with a variety of musicians to make songs and videos that are somehow related to Hamilton. The lyrics for this song are sort of an outtake from Hamilton, and the music is by John Kander, who wrote the music for the shows Chicago, and Cabaret, and the song “New York New York.” Not surprisingly, this tune has a classic Broadway sound. The video is a love letter to New York and it’s part of our Weekly Music Roundup.
