Violist Nadia Sirota is plugged in to the city’s new music community, both as a musician and as a broadcaster. She was part of the team here at New York Public Radio that won a Peabody Award for the podcast series called Meet The Composer. Now, Sirota is hosting a series of conversations and performances with composers and musicians from their homes, the "Pirate Radio Edition" of her podcast, Living Music. One of her past guests was pianist Vicky Chow, who chose to play a piece by Philip Glass because she felt its gentle lyricism would be comforting. Other past guests include harpist Bridget Kibbey, percussionist Glenn Kotche, and cellist Seth Parker Woods. Nadia Sirota’s Living Music: Pirate Radio variety show programs happen every Tuesday and Thursday evening at 9PM EDT, via Facebook Live.
