Lollise is originally from Botswana but is now based here in New York, and on Sat., August 28, she brings her own personal brand of Afrofuturist soul to New York’s newest cultural attraction, Little Island. Lollise’s album Looking At You is full of songs that tackle some very Earthbound topics but sets them in an interplanetary universe centered on Planet Africa. And her live shows incorporate visual art and movement as well. Lollise plays a free set Sat., Aug. 28 in the series called Late Night Music in The Glade, at Little Island off of Pier 55.
