Mexican singer and songwriter Magos Herrera has become a familiar figure here in New York; she’s worked with Brooklyn composer Paola Prestini and the string quartet called Brooklyn Rider, among other projects. And though she often writes her own material, she also brings her warm vocals to a wide range of songs, including “De Manha,” or “in the morning,” a Brazilian song that Herrera sings in Portuguese. Magos Herrera performs Thurs. night, Feb. 17, with her own quartet and with string players from the chamber orchestra The Knights.
