Mark Bowden On The Battle That Changed The Vietnam War

The Leonard Lopate Show | Jun 5, 2017

Mark Bowden, bestselling author of Black Hawk Down, joins us to discuss Hue 1968: A Turning Point of the American War in Vietnam. He tells the story of the North Vietnamese's efforts to capture the city of Hue as part of the Tet Offensive. Bowden explores the conflict from multiple points of view, and looks at how the 24 day-long struggle changed how Americans thought about the war.

Mark Bowden will appear in conversation with Steve Kroft of "60 Minutes" at Barnes & Noble Union Square (33 East 17th St.) at 7 p.m. on June 6.
