De Blasio Inauguration Open to (Some of) the Public

WNYC News | Dec 26, 2013

New Yorkers had a chance to attend the inauguration of Mayor-elect Bill de Blasio, where he'll be sworn in along with Public Advocate-elect Leticia James and Comptroller-elect Scott Stringer.

The de Blasio's administration was offering 1,000 tickets to New Yorkers who signed up on his transition team's website, on a first-come, first-serve basis for the Jan. 1 event, and they went fast.

Winners will be able to meet the new mayor and First Lady to-be Chirlane McCray at City Hall following the ceremony. Additionally, there will be an open house at Gracie Mansion on January 5.
