This episode of Meet the People tells the story of Chemists in Kharkiv Ukraine who are in need of diatomite for the manufacture of filters used in the production of synthetic fibers. They identify a potential mine in Nurnus, Armenia which might have the specific kind of diatomite they need, so they send a letter asking for samples. One day they receive a parcel of samples from the mine that match their specifications. Included with the samples is a letter from a fitter (machinist) named [Jora Oganisyan]. He explains that the mine is no longer producing and no one had any interest in fulfilling the request, so he took on the task himself.

One of the chemists travels to Nurnus to thank Jora and survey the site. Jora accompanies the chemist to the site, and the men almost perish in a landslide. The chemist reflects on how dangerous it was for Jora to fulfill their request. The announcer, [Joe Adamov] states that this is "a true story about a young Armenian who risked his life for people he had never even seen."
