Messiah/Complex by Against The Grain Theater (Limited Time Stream)
April 1-13. Free. Register to Watch.

With Easter coming up this weekend, it would normally be a good time to take in a performance of Handel’s Messiah. But we’re not there yet. (The work was initially an Easter offering back in 1742, first performed in Dublin on Good Friday.)
Canada’s Against The Grain Theater has taken the online delivery system by which we get most of our music these days and made something wonderful out of it. Filming singers and musicians across Canada, outdoors in the Yukon or in a cathedral in New Brunswick, they’ve done an abridged Messiah "with the goal of amplifying this unique moment of pride and inclusivity in Canada," performed in Arabic, Dene, English, French, Inuktitut, and Southern Tutchone, and accompanied by the Toronto Symphony Orchestra. Against The Grain Theater’s version of Handel’s Messiah is available for online viewing from April 1-13.
