First, there was a song called "You & Me," by the British duo Disclosure. Then came the hit remix by the Australian producer Flume. Spare and electronic, it was used in several TV commercials. It did not sound like something a German brass band would be able to play. But now comes MEUTE - the band name means “pack” in German – and these twelve drummers and horn players from Hamburg, Germany do an astonishing job of upending expectations with what they call their live techno marching band. "No matter if in the countryside or in the club, with or without electricity –MEUTE runs." (Blip Agency) MEUTE plays at Brooklyn Bowl on Saturday, Oct. 5.
