Playwright Dominique Morisseau's 'Pipeline'

The Leonard Lopate Show | Jul 19, 2017

Playwright Dominique Morisseau, and actors Karen Pittman and Namir Smallwood join us to discuss “Pipeline.” Pittman stars as Nya, an inner-city public high school teacher, who has sent her only son Omari (Smallwood) to a private school with the hopes that it will provide him with greater opportunities. But when Omari's future is jeopardized, Nya tries to protect him while also questioning her decisions as a parent.

“Pipeline” is playing at the Lincoln Center Theater (150 West 65th St., between Amsterdam and Columbus Ave.) through Aug. 27.
