Hannah Arendt's Life, Work and Legacy Explored in a New Film

Director Ada Ushpiz  discusses her new film “Vita Activa: The Spirit of Hannah Arendt,” which looks at the life and work of Arendt, a German Jew who fled Europe for New York in 1941. Richard Bernstein, philosophy professor at the New School and author of Hannah Arendt And The Jewish Questionis featured in the film and joins the conversation. 

 Event: "Vita Activa" opens April 6th at Film Forum (209 West Houston St.). Ada Ushpiz will be in conversation with Roger Berkowitz of Bard College’s Hannah Arendt Center for Politics & Humanities on April 6th  and 7th after the 6:30 p.m. shows. She'll be in conversation with Richard Bernstein on Friday, April 8th after the 6:30 p.m. show.
