Since bursting upon the indie rock scene some 20 years ago, The New Pornographers have offered an infectious blend of indie pop hooks, unexpected lyric twists and glittery vocal harmonies. The band is led by A.C.Newman, whose songwriting contains a lot of the compositional tricks you might find in a Burt Bacharach song, or a Beatles tune. Often referred to as a supergroup because of its rotating lineup that includes singer Neko Case, songwriter Dan Bejar, and others, The New Pornographers have released nine studio albums, the most recent one called Continue As A Guest. The New Pornographers play on Aug. 6 at New Jersey’s White Eagle Hall.
