Nile Rodgers and CHIC at OctFest

Nile Rodgers and his band CHIC were sometimes referred to as a rock band for the disco crowd, and their enduring hits, like “Good Times,” had a huge crossover appeal in the late 70s. But CHIC is still going, and are playing this weekend as part of the two-day Octfest at Governor’s Island. It’s a two day festival of music, beer, food and the ferry to Governor’s Island.

Nile Rodgers and CHIC are part of the Sunday lineup along with Flaming Lips, Yo La Tengo, and numerous others.  WNYC is giving away one pair of tickets to the entire weekend’s festivities.
