NJ Will Have To Shut Down Part Of Economy Again To Keep Infections Down, Expert Warns

Eric Forgoston is an applied math professor at Montclair State University. He says his models show to decrease the number of deaths and hospitalizations, people need to accept that things will shut down again but on a much smaller level, like specific schools or businesses.

"Whether you rip the Band-Aid off or successively open throughout the summer, if you're not monitoring, then the disease will just grow again and you'll get that major a second wave peak again," he said. 

He says comprehensive contact tracing and testing will be key to containing the spread of any future outbreaks.
