New York Guitar Festival 25th Anniversary at Kaufman Music Center Merkin Hall

Since 1999, the New York Guitar Festival has been presenting guitarists – and musicians who play related instruments from around the world – and broadcasting them on WNYC’s New Sounds. Now we are celebrating 25 years of that collaboration with a pair of anniversary shows at the Kaufman Music Center’s Merkin Hall on Friday, June 14 and Saturday, June 15. Guests include the powwow group Medicine Singers with guitarists Yonatan Gat and Lee Ranaldo, a duet set by Marc Ribot and Leyla McCalla, and a solo set by Yasmin Williams, who has developed a whole new way of playing the instrument.
